The animal-rights organization PETA is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for leaving an emaciated pit bull puppy outside an animal hospital in freezing temperatures last week.

The puppy was found last Wednesday on the pavement outside the Anderson Inner City Animal Hospital at 1963 N. Fillmore Ave.

Anyone with information about this case can contact Jeff Eyre, director of animal cruelty investigations for the SPCA Serving Erie County, at 629-3525.
