A fire on Humason Avenue raged out of control for more than 30 minutes this morning, damaging three homes and killing two dogs, according to the Buffalo Fire Department alarm office.

The fire was reported at 9:41 a.m. Saturday at an occupied two-bedroom house at 112 Humason near Genessee Street. Eight companies responded to the call, the fire department reported. The fire was declared under control at 10:17 a.m.

The American Red Cross is providing assistance for two displaced adults and four children,

Damages were listed as $50,000 to the structure and $25,000 to its contents. Exposure damage of $5,000 each was reported to dwellings at 106 and 114 Humason.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
