NIAGARA FALLS – Police said a Whitney Avenue man refused to cooperate with police after being shot in the stomach outside a Highland Avenue nightspot early Saturday.

Franchot B. Wallace, 26, was outside the Elk’s Lodge about 12:20 a.m. when several shots were fired – one hitting him in the stomach, police said. Wallace drove himself to nearby Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, and was stabilized for transport to Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo, where he was treated and released, police added.

Police said another witness to the shooting also refused to cooperate with the investigation.
