The Holland School Board has agreed to step up efforts to bring the district code book up to date.

School Board and Policy Committee member Ronda Strauss said there is a two-year backlog on policies to review. “If we take eight at a time, we can be caught up in three months,” she told fellow board members this week.

The district subscribes to an Erie 1 BOCES policy service that sends out one updated policy per month. The policy notifications can be about major initiatives like the Dignity for Students Act or offer a tweak in current policy language. Strauss said the committee had not received the monthly BOCES notifications from the administration in two years. Interim Superintendent Sylvia Root said she hoped the district will become current with policies.
