An improperly working wood burning stove was the suspected cause of a fire at an occupied Ontario Street house late Wednesday night, city fire officials said.
The fire was reported at about 10:38 p.m. at 156 Ontario, just west of Tonawanda Street.
The fire started on the first floor and extended to the second floor and attic, causing $125,000 in damage to both the interior and exterior.
Two firefighters were treated for minor injuries at the scene.
