Michael B. Powers, who helped establish a memorial at the site of the crash of Flight 3407 in Clarence Center, was named 2013 Citizen of the Year by the Clarence Chamber of Commerce.
Powers, as president of the nonprofit Remember Flight 3407 Inc., guided the creation of the memorial, which was dedicated in June. He also is a Clarence town judge, a partner with Phillips Lytle LLP, and an advocate for the town’s Greenprint program, which acquires land to protect it from development.
The awards will be presented at the Chamber’s 41st annual awards dinner Feb. 28 in Samuel’s Grande Manor.
Tickets will go on sale in December.
