LOCKPORT – State Department of Transportation officials will discuss their plans for the future of the North Adam Street Bridge at a public information session from 4 to 7 p.m. today in City Hall.

Mayor Michael W. Tucker said there will be no formal presentation; DOT officials will set up displays and answer questions from those stopping by.

The lift bridge over the Erie Canal was closed April 28, 2011, because of deterioration in the lift mechanism. At that time, the DOT informed the city it was trying to reach a decision on whether the century-old bridge should be repaired or removed.
