Two pedestrians were injured early today when they were struck by a vehicle as they tried to cross Hertel Avenue, Buffalo police reported.

A man and a woman, both in their 30s, were crossing Hertel near Crestwood Avenue about 3:50 a.m., when they were struck by a vehicle traveling west on Hertel, according to police spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge.

The injured pedestrians were taken to Erie County Medical Center but no further information on their conditions was available. Police as of this evening had not charged the driver, who did stop at the scene.
