Fire destroyed a Royalton home Saturday morning, leaving three people homeless.

Firefighters and Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies respond at about 5:15 to the fire at 4729 Cottage Road and found the house fully engulfed.

The three occupants safely escaped the blaze.

Terry’s Corners Volunteer Fire Company responded along with South Lockport and Gasport volunteer fire companies.

Homeowners Thomas and Barbara Vendetta were taken to Lockport Hospital for evaluation of possible smoke inhalation.

Fire Command requested that National Grid respond to turn off the power. The Red Cross was asked to assist three adults.

Once the fire was extinguished, the scene was turned over to Niagara County Fire Investigation Unit. The house was estimated to be a total loss.
