ST. CATHARINES, Ont. – Nearly $7,000 cash was seized along with an estimated $3,835 worth of drugs and a pair of arrests were made late Thursday in connection with a month-long investigation into a St. Catharines man’s alleged sale of heroin, Niagara Regional Police reported.

Gordon Larocque, 49, and Lisa Smith, 44, were charged with five counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of proceeds of crime.

Authorities said police executed a search warrant of an Albert Street address and arrested Larocque and Smith. A small amount of heroin and marijuana were discovered along with a large quantity of prescription pills and cash.

Larocque was held in custody pending a court hearing. Smith was released pending future court action.
