A Riverside High School student injured two school security guards Wednesday after stealing another student’s wallet, Buffalo police said.

School security guards received a complaint that the 16-year-old stole another student’s wallet after gym class. After reviewing footage on the school’s security cameras, they questioned the youth, who admitted stealing the wallet and giving the cash to another student, police said.

The youth then attempted to flee the school security office, knocking over a security guard, who injured her leg, before fighting with and injuring the finger of a second guard who eventually handcuffed the student.

The youth faces third-degree assault charges.
