Doritex Corp. president and owner Jim Doro was elected chairman of the Textile Rental Services Association, the international association that represents and serves business-to-business uniform and linen launderers. Doritex, operating at 11980 Walden Ave. in Alden, delivers laundered work garments to more than 3,000 customers in the region in retail, service, manufacturing and wholesale industries.

Michelle R. Ford, field examiner at the Dopkins ABL Consulting Services Group at Dopkins & Company, Certified Public Accountants and Consultants, recently earned the designation of certified fraud examiner from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Michael Glick, professor and dean of the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, was presented the American Dental Education Association's William J. Gies Foundation First Place Editorial Award for the third year in a row. The award is presented yearly to the author of the most valuable editorial published in a dental journal or periodical.

Lake Shore Savings Bank presented $20,472 to the Mikey's Way Foundation. The money was raised through the sale of raffle tickets for a pair of Buffalo Bills tickets to two upcoming games at each branch location in Erie and Chautauqua counties in October, and through employee donations and the board of directors of LakeShore MHC, who matched the dollar amount raised by the bank's fundraising effort.
