LOCKPORT – A Lockport man faces a possible sentence of life in prison if he is convicted of charges that he had sex with a girl under the age of 13 between July and October of this year.

Michael D. Johnson, 27, is charged in a grand jury indictment with six counts of predatory sexual assault against a child.

He also faces two counts each of rape, criminal sexual act and sexual abuse, all in the first degree, and single counts of endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree criminal sexual act and second-degree sexual abuse.

Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth R. Donatello said Johnson admitted having sex with the girl during a controlled phone call recorded by police.

Johnson remains free on a $10,000 bail bond. Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas said he must move out of his home within 30 days because he lives too near to the alleged victim.
