BATAVIA – The Genesee Economic Development Center plans to have its newest business park shovel-ready for high-tech firms by late 2013.
The agency has set aside $1.15 million for site development at Buffalo East Technology Park in the Town of Pembroke, the last and only undeveloped of six business parks created by the agency over more than a decade.
Development center officials want to have services ready and permits approved to ease construction starts for tenants on the 66-acre parcel along Route 77, near Thruway Exit 48A. That includes access roads and utilities, especially sewer and water. Part of the financing package – $460,000 – will be in bonds authorized by the agency at a recent meeting. Other funds will come from the agency’s real estate division, National Fuel, the Town of Pembroke and land sales.
The development center has an agreement with nearby Darien Lake Theme Park, whose annual $93,000 payments are earmarked for development along a corridor from the amusement park to the Thruway.
