Two local organizations have joined forces to provide financial aid to Buffalo homeowners with developmental disabilities.

The Learning Disabilities Association of Western New York and Heart of the City launched the Stable Homes program, which is funded by the state Department of Homes and Community Renewal and the New York State Affordable Housing Corp.

Three homes have already been renovated through the project, with enough funding left over to complete seven more homes owned by those with developmental disabilities, according to project organizers.
