The Marilla town budget for 2013 had no naysayers during the recent public hearing, prior to the monthly meeting of the Town Board.

The $2.6 million budget, which includes a 3.6 percent spending increase, will once again require no property tax on the general fund portion. The Highway Fund is up 4.5 cents per $1,000 of assessed value due to a bond to finance a $30,000 truck, and higher fuel costs.

The Sanitation Fund also is up and will mean a total cost of $141 per household due to higher fuel and pension costs.
