A Buffalo man was taken to Erie County Medical Center after he was shot at three times Saturday evening – and struck in the left shoulder and left forearm – in the Kensington-Bailey neighborhood, according to a Buffalo police report.

A witness told police that after the shooting, two men fled in a dark-colored Dodge Caravan west on Stockbridge Avenue.

The victim, Cardricus Maye, also fled along Stockbridge, toward Bailey Avenue, and was found by police about 6:14 p.m., according to the report. A police report did not list Maye’s age or address and a police spokesman could not confirm whether Maye is the brother of Dominique Maye, who died in September 2010 in a hail of bullets fired into a house on Hewitt Avenue.

Earlier this year, Cardricus Maye testified in the murder trial of Kevin J. Davis II, who was convicted of second-degree murder for the 15-year-old girl’s killing.

During the trial, prosecutors said Davis, a member of the Gangster Disciples, a violent street gang, had attacked the Hewitt Avenue home in a failed attempt to shoot Cardricus because gang members believed he was a snitch. But Davis fatally shot Dominique instead.

Maye, who did not have a criminal record when he testified in March, did not cooperate with police after fellow gang members beat him two weeks before Dominique’s death, and he did not cooperate after his sister was killed.
