ATTICA – Attica police are looking for the public’s help in finding the vandals who caused $50,000 in damage to 28 new and used vehicles at the Upstate Chevrolet dealership on Main Street in the village overnight Friday.

The windshields of several vehicles were kicked in and rocks thrown through others, said police, who are reviewing surveillance videotape from the dealer and nearby businesses.

Police Chief John D. Palillo Jr. said that as yet, there is no motive, but also suggested that if this is a prank that got out of hand, it would be advantageous for the perpetrators to come forward.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Attica Police Department at (585) 721-5276 or the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office at (585) 786-2255.
