A young Buffalo man was shot twice while walking in the East Delavan-Grider area Friday night, authorities reported.

Brandon Bibbes, 23, told Northeast District police that he was walking on Schuele Avenue, south of East Delavan Avenue and east of Grider Street, when he was shot in the back and left shoulder at about 9:40 p.m. Friday.

Following the shooting, a passerby drove him to ECMC, where he was listed in fair condition in Erie County Medical Center on Saturday.

Several 911 callers reported hearing about five shots fired, and three bullet fragments were recovered in the street. Police believe a red Trailblazer may have been involved in the shooting.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call or text the police confidential TIP-CALL line at 847-2255 or submit information at bpdny.org.
