The United Way of Greater Niagara announced Friday that it has surpassed its yearly fundraising goal.

The annual Community Care Campaign sought to raise $1.31 million, and the organization raised nearly $2,500 more than that amount for a variety of Niagara County programs.

This marks the third consecutive year that the United Way of Greater Niagara has surpassed its campaign fundraising goal since its formation in 2010. The organization supports 20 agencies and more than 75 programs across Niagara County that reach more than 80,000 people, officials said.
