NIAGARA FALLS – The staff of Niagara Gospel Rescue Mission and volunteers from area churches and the community will prepare up to 1,000 home-style complete turkey dinners and deliver them free on Thanksgiving Day to households of the homebound, senior citizens, families and others in need in the city and adjacent areas.

Last Thanksgiving, the mission delivered 604 hot meals to those in need.

Event coordinator Jan Scott said the mission’s 1,000-meal capacity has not yet been sold out, so those wishing to place an order can call 253-1463.

Mission Director Shaun Smith said the meals will be assembled, beginning at 8 a.m. Thanksgiving Day, in Assembly of God Church, 9750 Niagara Falls Blvd.

The Niagara Gospel Rescue Mission is a faith-based, nonprofit organization that provides preventive, emergency and long-term recovery services to the homeless and impoverished.
