Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz and Sheriff Timothy B. Howard have reached a tentative contract agreement with the Police Benevolent Association, but details of the proposal were unavailable.

About 140 members of the county union, which represents road patrol deputies in the Sheriff’s Office, were expected to vote on the proposal Tuesday and Wednesday, said Peter Anderson, a spokesman for Poloncarz.

The proposed agreement would cover the period between Jan. 1, 2009, and Dec. 31, 2016. It is one of seven county unions currently working under expired contracts, including two at Erie Community College.

Members of the Civil Service Employees Association, which represents the largest number of county employees, overwhelmingly voted down a tentative contract proposal earlier this year that sought employee contributions for health insurance and other concessions.
