WHEATFIELD – A Ward Road man told Niagara County sheriff’s deputies Tuesday that he received mail with racist remarks and a threat that he would be hanged if he “didn’t get out" of town.

The letter was found with a KKK symbol on the envelope.

The 43-year-old man said this was the second incident of harassment. He said last month he told state police that his home in the 6300 block of Ward Road had tar and eggs thrown on the driveway and possible animal waste was found on the front porch.

The letter which used a racist slur to address him said, “I warned you to get out. Your gonna get hung,” according to deputies.

Deputies said the letter, which was postmarked from Buffalo, contained an Equality postage stamp.

An investigation into the matter is continuing.
