ALFRED – No criminal charges will likely be filed against anyone for the natural gas leak that caused a destructive blast and fire which damaged a portion of the Rose Apartment complex on Glen Street, police indicated Wednesday.

Two residents had to be hospitalized Sunday after the 5 p.m. incident caused by the installation of a snow fence yards from the complex. A gas line 20 inches below the ground was punctured, leading to the explosion, Alfred police said.
