Work on a roofing project prompted officials to close the Aurora Town Public Library, 550 Main St., East Aurora, on Wednesday. The library will remain closed today and Friday.

A library spokeswoman noted that the work over the library’s area for children, front entrance and community room was expected to create loud noises and strong odors. The library is expected to reopen Saturday for its regularly scheduled hours, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The library’s drop box for returning borrowed books and other materials will remain open. Requested items will be held for an additional three days for pickup. For information, call Library Director Robert Alessi at 652-4440.
