A Buffalo man was sentenced Tuesday by Chief U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny to 15 years in prison for bank robbery.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Melissa Marangola said Michael Makolinski, 31, admitted robbing banks in Batavia, Irondequoit, Lewiston and Buffalo in late 2007.
Makolinski confessed to the robberies in June 2010 after Buffalo police arrested him for an unrelated offense. Marangola said he displayed what appeared to be a gun during each of the robberies.
His sentencing is the result of an investigation by the FBI and Buffalo Police.
