LOCKPORT – Raco N. Black, 45, of Whitney Avenue, Niagara Falls, pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Niagara County Court to charges that he and another man mugged a victim on 19th Street in the Falls on July 15.

Black is charged with second-degree robbery and fourth-degree grand larceny.

Co-defendant Carl R. Adams, 43, of Niagara Street, faces the same counts in connection with the July 15 incident in front of a Coastal gas station. Deputy District Attorney Doreen M. Hoffmann said the station’s video surveillance camera caught the mugging on tape.

Adams faces additional charges of second-degree robbery, fourth-degree grand larceny and second- and third-degree assault in connection with a June 10 mugging on 27th Street. Police said the victim who was beaten up in that case was a man dressed in women’s clothing. Adams has not yet been arraigned on the two-case indictment.
