The Buffalo Bills have sold out their prime-time matchup Thursday night against the Miami Dolphins, just in time to lift the local TV blackout of the game.

The Bills announced the sellout early this afternoon, meaning that the game will be shown locally, both on WBBZ-TV and the NFL Network.

The National Football League sellout deadline for lifting blackouts is 72 hours before kickoff. Since the Bills-Dolphins game kicks off at 8:20 p.m. Thursday, the 72-hour deadline would have been at that time tonight.

It’s not clear whether WBBZ-TV and/or other businesses stepped in to buy any tickets before tonight’s deadline.

“We were down to a couple thousand tickets remaining last week and have been working diligently to sell the remaining tickets before tonight’s 8:20 deadline,” Scott Berchtold, the team’s senior vice president for communications, said late this morning, a few hours before the sellout was announced.
