As night begins falling earlier and the winter closes in, there’s nothing like the music of Johannes Brahms. Its rich harmonies warm you like a blanket. The faculty of the University at Buffalo Music Department must know this because on Tuesday, Slee Hall is playing host to an all-Brahms concert.

Performing will be Virginia Barron, viola; Jonathan Golove, cello; Eric Huebner, piano; Jean Kopperud, clarinet, and Yuki Numata, violin. The music is the Sonata No. 1 for cello and piano in E minor, Op. 38; the Trio for clarinet, cello and piano in A minor, Op. 114; and the Piano Quartet No. 1 in G minor, Op. 25.

What’s not to love? The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. General admission is $10. For info, call 645-2921.
