Bobby Halton, editor in chief of Fire Engineering magazine, will speak at a Saturday seminar hosted by the Clarence/Newstead Fire Chiefs Association.

Halton, a retired fire chief, will talk about motivation and leadership in the fire service. He is also education director for the Fire Department Instructors Conference, and he served as deputy chief of operations at the Albuquerque Fire Department in New Mexico, and as chief of the Coppell Fire Department in Texas.

The seminar will be 9 a.m. to noon at the Clarence Middle School auditorium, 10150 Greiner Road. Registration, with coffee and doughnuts, starts at 8 a.m.

About 100 firefighters from Erie County are expected to attend. The cost is $10 per person.
