LOCKPORT – Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas sent a pair of burglars to state prison in separate cases Friday.
George E. Butterson, 39, of Niagara Street, Niagara Falls, drew two years in the County Jail. He had pleaded guilty to attempted third-degree burglary and petit larceny. He entered another apartment in his building twice on June 20. Restitution of $450 was included in the sentence.
Nicholas J. Reed, 21, of Lockport, was ordered into the state’s boot camp-style “shock incarceration” program, with a regular prison sentence of 15 months to four years awaiting if Reed washes out of boot camp. Reed pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary for entering a home on Park Avenue in Lockport July 29 and stealing a bandanna, a box of envelopes and three coins. He had been homeless for two weeks before the crime.
