Looking for something to do this weekend? Grab your friends or family and head out for a night of moonlight bowling. With the cold weather upon us, this is a perfect indoor activity.

Most bowling alleys offer moonlight bowling on Friday and Saturday nights anywhere from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.

On a recent visit to Wimbledon Lanes in West Seneca for moonlight bowling, everything was glowing different neon colors due to the black lights. Disco balls sparkled as they spun on the ceiling, and multicolored lights flashed. Beams of light were shining from every angle.

The music ranged from oldies to today’s current hits.

Moonlight bowling can be an affordable night out for teenagers. Prices are generally in the $12 range for three hours of bowling and shoe rental.

Transit Lanes offers a Country Cosmic Night that takes place on the last Friday of every month, with country music playing throughout the night.

If you’re looking for a little friendly competition, most lanes offer prizes for highest score, most strikes, etc.

If you work up an appetite for a late-night snack while you’re bowling, most alleys serve food and drinks.

Reservations are usually recommended for moonlight bowling, so be sure to call in advance.
