NIAGARA FALLS – A Niagara Falls woman was charged this week with two counts of petit larceny and accused of aiding three women in the theft of nearly $800 worth of clothing and food.

Brittany N. Panepinto, 21, of Hennepin Avenue, was charged in two incidents of theft that took place Sept. 9 and 11 in the Walmart supercenter on Military Road.

Store security officers told city police Panepinto was seen on security video on both dates passing clothing and food on the conveyor to three women, but not scanning the items. According to police, a total of $578 worth of items were stolen by the three women in the first case and $219 worth of items by one of the same women in the second case. Store security told police they intend to press charges against the three women, as well, if they can be identified.

Panepinto – who left on maternity leave prior to the September incidents, according to store security – was fired by the store before being charged by police on Wednesday.
