A Tonawanda man faces at least five years in federal prison – and up to 20 in total – as well as a $250,000 fine following his guilty plea to distributing child pornography, U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul Jr. reported Wednesday.

Andrew Ortman, 40, who will be sentenced March 6, admitted to the charge before U.S. District Court Judge Richard J. Arcara.

Ortman’s home was searched and computer seized in October 2011, after law enforcement officers downloaded eight video files from his computer containing child pornography, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Russell T. Ippolito Jr.

A forensic examination of Ortman’s computer revealed he possessed, received and distributed more than 600 images and videos of child pornography, Ippolito said.
