Two bank robberies Monday in Jamestown and the Town of Ellicott may involve serial bank robbers, prompting authorities in the Southern Tier municipalities to join forces with the FBI and other law enforcement agencies from across the state where there have been bank robberies.

Surveillance video indicates possibly one of the crooks could be the same person traveling around the state with an accomplice.

The two most recent robberies occurred at the First Niagara on the 400 block of Spring Street in Jamestown at 12:16 p.m., and Jamestown Savings Bank on the 200 block of West Main Street in Falconer, a village in the Town of Ellicott, at 2:25 p.m., police said.

Anyone with information on either robbery was asked to call Jamestown police at 483-7537, or Town of Ellicott police at 665-7083. All information will be kept confidential.
