NIAGARA FALLS – A city man was arraigned Monday on charges he stabbed a neighbor on Saturday.
Gerale D. Jones, 31, of Hyde Park Boulevard, was charged with first-degree assault. He is being held in the Niagara County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail. A return court date to in City Court was set for Friday.
Jones is accused of stabbing James L. Kemp, 53, another resident of his apartment complex at 3204 Hyde Park Blvd., police said.
Kemp was found by officers about 3:30 a.m. Saturday on a second-floor landing and was bleeding heavily from wounds to his head and left side, according to police. Kemp was taken to Erie County Medical Center, where he was treated and discharged on Sunday.
Jones turned himself in at police headquarters several hours after the attack, police said.
