TOWN OF NIAGARA – A Town of Niagara man was injured and also faces drunken driving charges following a two-vehicle crash at Porter and Tuscarora roads just before 7 p.m. Saturday.

Cody Miller, 25, of Divide Road, was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, driving while intoxicated, driving without a seat belt and passing a red light, Niagara County sheriff’s deputies reported.

Miller was taken from the scene by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center, where he was treated and released on Monday. The other vehicle, a 2009 Ford pickup, was driven by Gary N. Bugyi, 49, of Walmore Road, Wheatfield, He was treated and released from Mount St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, after suffering minor back injuries. Bugyi was not at fault in the crash, according to reports at the scene.

After the crash, deputies followed Miller to ECMC and said he appeared to have a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. A blood kit and urinalysis was ordered, based on implied consent, and was transported for analysis, deputies reported.

Further charges may be pending based on test results, according to deputies.
