The Wilson Lions Club and the Wilson Middle School are holding an exhibition of posters in the annual Lions International Peace Poster Contest. The exhibition runs through Friday in the Wilson House Restaurant & Inn at 300 Lake Street.

The grand prize winner and his or her parents will be flown to New York, where they will be presented a prize of $5,000 at the United Nations.

Twenty-four runners-up are awarded prizes of $500 each.

The winners in the Erie Canal Discovery Center’s Student Art Contest were honored during an event last month.

Students living in Niagara County who attend kindergarten through 12th grade submitted entries in four age categories and produced original drawings pertaining to the history of the Erie Canal. A team of local artists judged the entries.

Winners in grades kindergarten through second are Sarina Singh (first place), Jake Stickney (second place), Abby Johnson (third place) and Kaydon Johnson (honorable mention).

Students who won in grades three through five are Brianna Loveland (first) and Rajan Singh (second).

Winners in grades six through eight are Imean Davis (first), Larry Liddell Jr. (second) and Julia Soladay (third place).

High School winners are Emily Finiki of Newfane (first), Kate Bochnewetch of Newfane (second), Olivia Licata of Lockport (third), Sydney Hoefer of Newfane (honorable mention) and Karen Fedkiw of Newfane (honorable mention).

Winners in each age group received a certificate and prize. Cash awards were presented to all of the high school winners.
