Ellicottville went 1-1 in soccer championship games Friday.

Goalie Liz Wendal recorded her sixth shutout of the season as the Eagles captured the Class D girls championship in a 3-0 victory over North Collins. Caitlin Toth scored two goals for Ellicottville, which will advances to Far West Regionals to face the Rochester-area Section V champion.

The Eagles’ boys soccer team was not as fortunate in their quest for the Class D crown in falling to North Collins, 1-0.

Field hockey

Iroquois advanced to the Class B final against Williamsville South after defeating Pioneer in the semifinals via shootout, 3-1.

Kirsten Audette, Jourdan Gingrich, Meghan Fonfara all scored goals in the shootout for the Chiefs after the teams played to a scoreless draw through regulation and overtime.

Iroquois goalie Jamie Ward recorded the shutout and had two saves in the shootout.

Alisha Bell and Molly Jennings each scored goals for Akron, who moved on to the Class C finals after beating Eden, 2-0. Goalie Tori Triaga recorded the shutout and added seven saves.

Boys volleyball

In a Class B quarterfinal, Williamsville South advanced behind Anthony Podgorsak’s 17 kills in a 3-1 victory over Eden.

The Billies move on to face Lake Shore, who defeated Hamburg in another quarterfinal matchup, 3-0.

Ryan Joslyn finished with 16 kills and Billy Pinter added 12 for the Eagles. ... Kenmore East (16-2) beat North Tonawanda, 3-1. The Bulldogs’ Michael Crawford finished with seven aces and Kyle Patterson 15 kills. ... Williamsville East went back and forth with Grand Island until the teams settled matters in the fifth set as the Flames downed GI. Matt Whiting finished with five blocks and Dylan Cicero 35 digs for the Flames, who won the final set, 25-21.

Williamsville East now plays Kenmore East in the semifinals.
