TOWN OF LOCKPORT – The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office said 20 drunken-driving arrests were made countywide during a Halloween crackdown from Oct. 26-31.

Police departments participating in the DWI enforcement, sponsored through a grant from the county’s STOP-DWI office, included the Sheriff’s Office and agencies in Niagara Falls, Lockport, North Tonawanda, Middleport, Lewiston, Youngstown, Barker and the Town of Niagara. In all, more than 400 tickets were issued, among other charges.

Sheriff James Voutour said additional DWI crackdowns are planned through the remainder of the year.
