Buffalo State College is celebrating the opening of a new recital hall. The ribbon cutting is Sunday evening, and the featured performer is guitarist JoAnn Falletta. Falletta better known, of course, as the music director for the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra is playing classical guitar with her husband, clarinetist Robert Alemany.

Also joining in the festivities is the Clara String Quartet, made up of four women in the BPO: Amy Glidden, violin; Jacqueline Galluzzo, violin; Kate Holzemer, viola; and Amelie Fradette, cello.

The evening will include music by Luigi Boccherini and the fiery violin virtuoso Nicolo Paganini.

The concert takes place at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. The new state-of-the-art recital hall is on the third floor of Rockwell Hall (1300 Elmwood Ave.), located across the street from the Albright-Knox Art Gallery.

Admission is $35. For info, call 878-3005.
