FORT ERIE, Ont. – An Alabama man faces charges of possessing and importing child pornography after being stopped Friday on the Canadian side of the Peace Bridge, Niagara Regional Police reported.

Johnnie Ray Hutchens, 48, of Blountsville, Ala., entered Canada from the United States and was referred to secondary inspection, where members of the Canada Border Services Agency searched his vehicle and found the alleged child pornography, police said.

Niagara Regional Police in Fort Erie responded and arrested Hutchens.

He was being held in custody pending a bail hearing in St. Catharines.
