LOCKPORT – A video entered by staffers from Lockport’s Briody Health Care Facility finished out of contention in the online Pink Glove Dance contest, which closed Friday night.

The contest, aimed at raising awareness of breast cancer research, drew about 275 entries. It was sponsored by Medline Industries, a manufacturer of medical supplies. The first prize was $10,000 for a cancer-related donation of the winner’s choice.

As of Friday night, Lexington Medical Center of West Columbia, S.C., was far out in front with nearly 15,000 votes. Briody’s video received 1,325 votes.

Briody staffers had hoped to win cash to donate to a University at Buffalo Nursing School project for an online resource for women just diagnosed with breast cancer.
