Buffalo police are looking for a gunman who wore dark clothing and a mask for the Halloween night shooting of a 43-year-old woman in her upstairs apartment at Zenner and East Ferry streets.

The gunman entered the victim’s house shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday and began firing with a handgun, striking the woman in the back.

Police said the woman was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, with injuries that did not appear life-threatening.

Police are looking for the suspect, who fled on foot.
