A 16-year-old Burgard High School sophomore has been charged with second-degree assault and accused of hurting the school principal, Buffalo police reported Wednesday.

Principal Brian Wiesinger suffered a four-inch laceration of his left hand on Friday as he broke of a fight between the female teen and another female student, police said.

The girl – who broke a window during the fight before Wiesinger was injured – was arrested about 11 a.m. at the Kensington Avenue school, police reported, and charged by Officer Thomas English with the felony assault.
