Twice this year, police responded to calls in Buffalo about a man with a gun. Twice, they arrested Shawn A. Saunders Jr., 24, of Oxford Avenue.

Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III announced Wednesday that Saunders has pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Held without bail, he faces a maximum of 30 years in prison on each count when he is sentenced Nov. 30 by Supreme Court Justice M. William Butler.

Saunders was arrested by NFTA police March 4, after a report of a man with a gun near the Main-Utica Metro Rail station. Officers said he discarded a loaded pistol during a chase that ended when he fell off a roof.

While out of jail on bail June 15, Buffalo police caught Saunders with a loaded pistol as he hid in shrubbery near Fillmore Avenue and French Street.
