Two young Buffalo men pleaded guilty to charges related to the home invasion and robbery of a retired, 84-year-old Buffalo school teacher, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office announced today. Alezander Lermineau, 22, and Nicolas Weathington, 17, both of the same address on Shepard Street, were both charged with second-degree robbery and second-degree burglary. They entered their guilty pleas before Erie County Judge Sheila A. DiTullio.

Authorities said Lermineau and Weathington broke into the victim’s Goethe Street home, held her down and covered her mouth to prevent her from screaming. They took her purse and used her credit cards “to go on a shopping spree at the Galleria Mall,” according to a statement from the DA’s office.

The two face maximum prison sentences of 15 years each when sentenced Dec. 11.
