NIAGARA FALLS – A man wearing a mask and gloves robbed a motel clerk on Tuesday.

The cashier at the Rodeway Inn, in the 400 block of Main Street, said a heavyset man wearing a gray hoodie came in to the lobby at 1:55 a.m., looked him in the eye and ordered him to “put all the money in the bag.” The clerk said the suspect did not have a bag.

The clerk said he went to the cash drawer and put a $142 on the counter. He told police that as he turned to retrieve the cash the suspect pulled out a small silver handgun and pointed it at him, as well as two others who were in the lobby, telling them all, “Do not move.”

The robber then fled with the cash. Security video of the incident was turned over the city police detective bureau.
