The tenure of Lazar Hayward, who played his high school basketball in Buffalo for Traditional, with the Houston Rockets only lasted two days.

The Rockets, who acquired Hayward in a large transaction that also brought James Harden to Houston on Saturday, released Hayward on Monday.

The Rockets also waived forwards Jon Brockman and JaJuan Johnson, and guards Gary Forbes and Shaun Livingston.

The 6-foot-6 forward played college basketball at Marquette. He was a first-round draft pick of the Washington Wizards in 2010, but was immediately traded to Minnesota. Hayward was dealt to Oklahoma City in 2011 for two second-round draft picks.
