A 67-year-old Lancaster man was seriously injured Monday morning when he was struck by a car, Lancaster police said.

The incident took place at about 7:20 a.m. on Pavement Road near Genesee Street.

The victim, who has not been identified, may have walking in the driving lane when he was struck by a car, operated by a 34-year-old man.

The injured man was conscious at the scene and was transported by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center, officials said.

Investigators said that the light, misty rain and the dark may have contributed to the accident.

No charges have been filed but the incident remained under investigation Monday afternoon.
